I’m maintaining too damn many blogs these days. My personal site has taken off (good lord, has it ever, since I was “freshly pressed” today and just spent three hours answering comments). Go there for my photos, please, from now on:
Thanks for all the support!
So I had about half an hour today to do something not work-related. Stopped at a waterfront park on the way to work and utilized my time this way.
I just like the crow. He looks so angry at me.
We were out this weekend in the motor home. The light was strange, after several icy clear days (and nights). Last night was the first time in many years that I’ve been a: far enough out in the country and b. awake and c. in clear weather, to see the milky way. Gorgeous. No photos of that, though I tried. When it’s 14 degrees and you don’t have a tripod, bulb timer or know-how, there ain’t much experimenting! Instead, I saved the photos for today, in the waning light of dusk and the industrial lot where the RV is stored.
Today we headed up to the Cascades to go skiing. Due to the dramatically foggy weather, we appeared to be skiing in the Alps at times. The snow was actually not too bad, for Washington state. Afterward, cocoa was had by all and then, in the technicolor twilight, I grabbed a few last shots before we ventured back to the dull flatlands of home.
Pizza and a tow after a year with no practice. He was soon zipping down the blue runs.
She’s got it, though. Look at the mountains!
Only one of these two was switched to black and white. It was that kind of day, color-wise.
Lots of grays and blues, depending on the light at any given moment.
Okay, no fair, these are black-and-white.
Cocoa and the fire! God, but my family are good looking…
Like Mama, like Boy…
Obligatory normally-exposed bathroom self-portrait (see header for over-exposed version from last winter).
Evening brought out the amazing colors. These are virtually unaltered (virtually).
And… a panorama!
Kitty and Me. Repeat. At some point I will have to take a flattering picture of myself again, but for now, eh… kitty is always gorgeous.
As I age, I find my face becomes more interesting in terms of objective texture.
Vanity aside, wrinkles are rather cool.
Even when mostly smoothed away…
Two photos from a foggy evening. The first was a “happy accident” while I was determining exposure lengths. The second is the final result from our balcony. Taken at 1am in total darkness except for the neighbor’s lights.
